It has been an exciting and secretive couple of months, so I am just delighted (and relieved) that the news is finally out. We are expecting our second little bundle and we just can’t wait! As far as pregnancies go, I was very lucky with my first one and have got through the first trimester of my second one with nothing more than a little tiredness! I haven’t had as much as a day of morning sickness and I haven’t been put off any food YET (I couldn’t look at garlic with Lilly Rose).
The first difference I have noticed this time round is that I started to show VERY early! I could notice a little bump from as early as 7/8 weeks!! And it wasn’t in my head – I didn’t fit into my jeans and I took weekly pics to see how bump was growing! In my first pregnancy, I can remember telling people at 16 weeks and they were searching me for a bump! Having a bump so early has made it so difficult to keep it all under wraps until I reached the 12 week mark.. but we did it! I did have quite a big bump with Lilly Rose after 30 weeks but I did have a big girl growing in there at 9lb 9oz! But I already have a rapidly growing bump with this one so I’m hoping it will slow down a little!
I knew since I was just 3 weeks pregnant so I was worried the weeks would drag until we announced it, but they actually flew! There has been so much on and having an active 3 year old around makes the days and weeks go so much quicker! Lilly Rose is very excited about the new baby but is insisting that we are getting a baby boy and that she wants a little brother! Speaking of gender.. any of you that know me personally will know I’m a very impatient person and that it killed me last time not finding out the gender! But Kevin convinced me to keep it a surprise and I was so happy I did. This time however, he isn’t having an easy job convincing me! And more and more people are finding out what they are having now (which is tempting me even more!). I have my 16 week scan this week and I honestly don’t know what to do! So I would love to hear from any of you mammies or mammies-to-be on what you have done / decided to do?
Looking forward to sharing my pregnancy journey with you all! If there is anything in particular you would like to see drop me a wee mail or comment!
