Here I am at the halfway mark already (20w6d)! The weeks are just flying in this time! We had our big scan today and I am so thankful to say that baby is doing great and developing well. There is always a little worry going to any scan but I did feel particularly anxious about this one, just because it looks at the baby in such depth (and they didn’t do anomaly scans when I was pregnant with Lilly Rose).
We still hadn’t decided whether we would find out the gender or not and when I saw him/her today I did wonder but once they asked did we want to know I quickly said I don’t think so! We debated for a wee minute and I just said we won’t bother! Of course I’m still as curious and impatient as ever but I just didn’t know if I would like not having a surprise to wait on! Deep down, I know that Kevin still wanted to keep it a surprise (even though last night and this morning he started asking will we just find out!). So, for now, Baby G is staying a surprise.. no pink or blue shopping just yet – although I did buy a few bits in the Next sale already 🙊. So I should say, no more pink or blue!! Lots of people ask what do I think I’m having and I do think it’s another little girl in there 💖 but only because I feel the same as I did in my last pregnancy. Bump wise I think I’m the same shape, just bigger, quicker!!
We took Lilly Rose with us to the scan today and it was lovely having her be a part of it all. She was so excited to see the baby on the screen and loved seeing him/her kicking around and was amazed by all the bones. Some of her questions and comments gave us a good giggle.
Baby weighs about 15 oz now today, so almost a pound! It’s crazy how much of the growing is done in the second half. I think we will have our hands full with this little one – the movements were unbelievable.. I even have a picture of him/her bent right over kicking themselves in the head! 🙈
I felt the little movements quite early this time (I guess because I knew what I was waiting for!) and we have been feeling kicks on our hands since 18weeks. I’ve even managed to get a few videos where you can see him/her jumping about! We also heard the heartbeat at 18 weeks with the nurse, Lilly Rose loved that!
According to my Baby Pics App (which I love!) Baby G is now the size of a banana!
I’m still feeling great, no sickness or anything and sleeping well – maybe too well. I am not looking forward to the early starts again – back to work tomorrow! But I really made the most of the summer off and I’m sure it will be Christmas before we know it! I will be glad to get back into a routine though, especially as far as lunch and dinners go – I have been eating way too many takeaways and snacking on junk food! So I will see how much spare energy I have and try to get back to a bit of light exercise aswell.
Well it has been a perfect last day of the summer holidays! I will keep you all posted on any updates!
(and Bump! xx)
